Why I Created Russian Manicure – Beyond Technique
Technicians can often copy a sequence well. The difficulty tends to appear once the sequence meets a real client: the skin is different, the pocket does not open the same way, the sinus is difficult to access, the e-file suddenly feels different, or the client in front of them simply does not resemble the demonstration they originally learned from.
The problem is not always knowing another movement. It is understanding what you are looking at and why you are making the movement.
Russian Manicure Is More Than a Clean Cuticle Photograph
A very clean macro result does not, on its own, prove good technique. A photograph shows the surface at one moment. It does not show the pressure applied, the tool angle used, how many passes were made, or how the surrounding tissue responded during the service.
Genuine competence includes anatomy knowledge, tissue assessment, technical control, and knowing when a result is actually complete, not simply when it looks acceptable in a photograph.
Why Anatomy Changes the Technique
Two clients can require completely different approaches even when the finished manicure is expected to look similar. Some proximal nail folds lift easily and open widely. Others are firmer and far less mobile. Some cuticle pockets are naturally deep. Others are shallow, regardless of technique. Some nail sinuses are easy to access safely. Others require a different angle and a different level of care entirely.
Anatomy is not a subject taught separately from the practical work. It directly determines pressure, depth, angle and tool choice throughout the service.
E-File Control Is Not Just RPM
Speed, pressure, movement, contact point, angle, stabilisation and positioning all work together as a single system. Treating RPM as the one setting that fixes every problem misunderstands how the tool actually behaves.
Changing the RPM cannot correct poor pressure, an incorrect angle or poor hand control.
Why Real-Client Demonstrations Matter
One perfect model teaches a demonstration. Real clients teach adaptation.
